2010 StartupNation Leading Moms in Business Competition

Everybody knows one. Like a super hero, she balances running a family with the heroics of running her own business. We’re talking about moms in business, of course.  Once again, StartupNation is kicking off their annual celebration of America’s top mom-owned businesses!  Jewels by Jan has entered again this year and we hope to rank smokin hot on the popularity meter!

This  the one and only ranking focused on those can-do moms who run families and businesses at the same time. The 2010 StartupNation Leading Moms in Business competition will rank the top 200 mom-run businesses across the United States as determined by the combination of popular vote and the special recognition of our judges for certain outstanding contestants.

But, how will they know who’s the best of the best?  They’re leaving that to you. Over the next few months, it’ll be your daily votes that will tell them who deserves to be named a winner. The voting starts now and ends at midnight on August 31st. You can vote once every day and you can even add your e-mail to be reminded to vote each day.

Being in the top 200 would mean so much to us.  For one thing the publicity would be priceless.  We know that awareness and driving traffic to your business is one of the biggest challenges for any business owner. Winners of the Leading Moms in Business Ranking will be part of a very high profile list that will be published and promoted widely in traditional media such as national and local TV, radio, in newspapers and magazines, and on some of the largest, most influential websites on the web. MSN, Bizjournals, ABC News NOW (and StartupNation, of course) have been among media covering the rankings and spreading the word about these enterprising moms.
